Maternity and Newborn

Below is a couple of shoots I have done with children under 6 months old.

What makes me different to other baby photographers?
The answer is really simple. I am a mother and only a mother knows how to soothe and relax an infant. I have a high level of patience with babies as I have two kids of my own who were both babies themselves once. I know what a baby needs and I know that with babies and small children, a flash will get you nowhere and I find that flash photography can sometimes make an infant look washed out, that's why in my shoots I only use low lighting or preferrably natural light. it comes up looking a lot better and children aren't screaming their heads off because they hate the flash in their faces.

"Sheain Carroll"
Three month old Sheain started off a little grouchy, not wanting to co-operate but after a feed, he was quite content and happy to have his picture taken.
Then he decided to fall asleep so mummy and I decided to make the most of it with some absolutely gorgeous shots of him snoozing.
Was a pleasure having both mum and bub in the studio and I look forward to working with the two of them again. :)
Thank you to mum Jade for bring young Sheain down to the studio. It was a lot of fun.
*Using only natural light has given these images a great natural feel. They dont look over processed or dull they are just nice, neutral shots and no flash meant no fuss when the shutter went off.

"Lila Autumn Smith"

Tiny little Lila was only around 3 or four weeks old when I did some photos of her and it was quite late so lighting was very poor. All up I think I only took about ten photos both of Lila by herself and also with her big sister Kayla. I also got some with mum and dad as well.
I had a blast doing this shoot as it was my first baby shoot and I cant wait to do some shots with the girls again.
Thank you to mum Terri for allowing me to take photos of her beautiful girls.
